Shame On India
Every Indian who would have seen this piece of news must have felt ashamed to death.. Mob burning Indian flag in India..Such a disturbing sight! It was a national SHAME and the country should have taken the day as a BLACK DAY. Attacks on national symbols or embodiments of ‘National Honour’ are a feature of dirty politics and attract media attention in advanced and emerging economies. The separatist group in Kashmir burnt national flag in public and in full media glare and no one condemned this. But see the tragedy no News channel telecast this incidence. The media which boasts of high principles and is perceived as fourth pillar of democracy has been sleeping over the matter.Let me explain how grave the concern is! See the reality!!!
We are proud of national symbols and the national flag, because these are the identities of our nation. We always want our national flag to be hoisted high and up. We have a long history about it, patriots sacrificed their lives in order to save the dignity of the national flag. See the pictures shown above and you will feel ashamed of yourselves. What kinds of people live there in Kashmir I don’t know?
During the ongoing Amarnath Sangarsh, Jammuites holding the Indian National Flag and chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ are open fired by the J&K Police on orders from the Police Commissioner. Peaceful protesters are killed. Like in case of Amarnath case, people in Kashmir when want to get some demand fulfilled, protest by burning Indian national Flag, hosting Pakistani Flag and chanting ‘Hindustan Murdabad, Pakistan Jindabad’. But no body condemns. Infact, all such protest are followed by a team of union ministers visiting Kashmir and immediately sanctioning a few thousand crore rupees for Kashmiris. Every year on 14th Aug (Pakistani Indipendence Day), Pakistani flag is hosted everywhere in Kashmir, including the government buildings and on 15th Aug; same people burn the Indian flag.
Today I received an e-mail from my friend Smita Shrotriya regarding the same. I was shocked to see the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. No one is bothered about the dignity of the National Flag and national symbols. People in India are disrespecting the National prestige before media and they are not showing and writing about this sensitive issue. What they need is masala news.
If Tendulkar cuts the cake which is made to look like national flag, he is condemned.
If Mandira Bedi wears a saree with the flags of all the countries being portrayed on that, she is made to apologies.
If one cop in Kolkata and one in Bangalore is terminated for throwing the Indian national flag on ground by mistake.
There are number of cases where someone or other has been summoned by court or arrested but this shameful act mentioned above is not that grave a concern in the eyes of Media. I want to ask them if everything is ommercialized, nothing is for the good of media. I have heard people talking about media playing a crucial role in the independence of our country.
Media is the watch dog of the political democracy. If it plays its role honestly, it will be a great force in building the nation but now a days, media has become a commercialized sector eying only for news that is hot and sells. Instead of giving important and progressive information, all that one gets to see on sundry television channels is sensational depiction of all news stories, their only goal being gaining television rating points (TRPs)’ says Shalini Devrani’.
I am still trying to get the answer why the media is silent on such issues. Why does not it come as a Breaking News? Is it really of no significance?

This is the first time that I have decided to drop a few lines of my own thoughts. I agree with everything you have posted on your blog. I went through the complete information on the page that really is an eye opener for the great people of our so-called great India. You raised the concern our nation has been struggling since 1947 with. Due to which thousands of innocent civilian and defense personnel have lost their lives. Due to which thousands of Kasmiri Pandit families had to evacuate by leaving everything behind and they are now leading their lives like orphans. Due to which the PARADISE ON EARTH (Kasmir) became like the real HELL ON EARTH. Due to which visitors from outside India think twice to be there even we( Indians) are scared to go for a trip to our own state. Due to which still we are a developing country. Due to which you will find men in khaki more than the civilians in numbers.
Sourabh, It’s not only the tricolor, it’s our pride our blood and our each and everything which is burning on our very own soil by a few b****y Pak******. They need to shoot publically then n there. But it’s really shame on Indian government and media for not making it breaking news. Who does not know, that Tendulkar, Mandira and many others have been condemned only because they showed their love and respect to our national flag in their own way.
Then why double standards?
Are we not capable enough to give full stop to all which is going on against our national prestige/unity/culture/brotherhood and development?
Why we are so scared to take any big/final action against the terrorism running in our country?
What is that which is holding us back to take any initiative towards achieving permanent solutions to all the big threats?
Are we eu**ch or there is no blood in our vein? Or do we need to see more parliament, Mumbai, Delhi attacks and bomb blasts?
All this dirty episode of such ruthless acts shows where we are standing. It’s almost 63 years since we are independent now and all the major issues are still not resolved. It’s not only the Indian politicians who are responsible for this situation we all are responsible equally for not doing our part of responsibilities/job in a correct manner.
We are on MOON now, we have placed our tricolor there and we are a member of an elite club who made it possible. But just think about what is happening with our nations pride in Kasmir…..
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo…………… It s enough and enough now………….
…we need to find answers to all these questions…..
It’s really a high time for us to stop all this nonsense by hook or by crock. We need to take initiatives towards establishing the peace and taking our country to the top of this word where it had been earlier………..

Its history started when Kashmiri Bahamians went to Guru Tek Bhadur for help, as Muslims were creating problems for them. Then Guru Gobind Singh established Khalsha panth to help hindus from Muslims. The issue is so old and the problem is the same and the base is …….. Religion, so called Islamic philosophy, which condemns all other religions.
The problem of Kashmir is not anywhere but it is within the politics of India. Jawaharlal Lal Nehru, who is considered to be the legend of India was a great failure in Indian foreign policies and lost Kashmir by involving United Nations. Not only this, in spite of being himself from a Kashmiri Brahmin family, he was unable to understand the issue of Hindus in Kashmir.
When a nation like Sri Lanka can fight elegantly against LTTE then why not India can take actions against Pak occupied Kashmir. The reason is simple and that is our politicians (mainly Congress) does not want to lose votes from their Muslims Voters. This is not an issue with Capability, but it is directly related to party needs. Moreover, Hindus who consists 80% percent of Indian population are not united in a way that political parties observe us as a single entity and then work accordingly.
Please, do not consider that I want a Hindu raj in India and want all other religions to be out of it. The reason I am considering Hindus is that they are the major force in India and if a major force works for the welfare of a community or country then results come in a required time frame. Adding to this, Hindus are flexible enough to adopt a secular way of Government, other than any religion. This is not a statement but you can notice this from the history of the world and this is the reason Hindus have welcomed all religions from centuries.
If anyone says that Kashmir issue is not due to the Muslim Orthodoxies, then please take into consideration that the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir is different to all other states.
1. It states a separate quota for Muslims in all spheres of lives.
2. Uunder Article 370 of the Constitution of India according to which, no law enacted by the Parliament of India, except for those in the field of defense, communication and foreign policy, will be extendable in Jammu and Kashmir unless it is ratified by the state legislature of Jammu and Kashmir.
3. Jammu and Kashmir is also the only Indian state that has its own flag and constitution.
Indian Constitution gives all this to Kashmir and still the fight is going on. Literally, this is kneeling down in front of the Kashmiri people (Muslims) and in return, they are giving us terrorism by standing next to Pakistan.
Considered, paradise on earth, however, now created hell on earth, as level of tourism has decreased. Once the per capita income of Kashmir was approximately equal to the per capital income of Switzerland. Now, no one wants to risk his or her lives. This is certain that Pakistan is writing its own future with guns and missile where no one will be satisfied, but along with it Pakistan will create a torment well for India.
Once Gandhi Ji said to Britishers ‘’Leave India in Gods hand” from that day till now India is still in Gods hand (Bhagwan ke hawale) and we Indians are still not grown up to handle our Great nation. We should not blame all this on Politics because we are the ones who elect them, we are the one who ignore to fight for the right cause, we are the one who can change but not ready to change the system.
Human psychology is the most complicated one and most annoying at times too. We, normally are very reluctant to change our status quo. And this lethargy is often used by those who rise from amongst us to emerge as leaders and drive us the way that suits them best. No surprise them that poor junta is always used as ladder by some to go up the way to power and rule over the same bunch of masses.
However, this junta has enormous power too and when it rises there comes a revolution. We need something similar to wash off the dirt that our politicians and those from across the border are subjecting us to.
And unfortunately, these media people can do recognisation And rewards for everything, but why the hell they fail to see this news which is costing Indian Pride. I am sure that no cab want to listen to the news of some god damn Billo Rani climbing the mountain or any dog is being kidnapped…So the main concern is to see weather they can bring this issue in limelight,, so that other people of the nation are awared of it and stop such kinda practices.
